Wow! April 2026 has been a real doozy of a month. I’ve been busy working and saving up money for some stuff. Do you ever feel like time has passed and you know you’ve done things, but you just can’t recall what you’ve done? Whenever I feel like that, I wonder if I’m having a crisis of meaning or whatever. Buuuut then I remember that I have a lot of great things going on and a lot of amazing things to look forward to.

Anyway, let’s talk about some great and amazing things!

I got Nerd Inferno by the wonderful Evan Dorkin, who I am super excited to be meeting next month. All my favorite of his works in one giant, convenient tome! I’ve bought two copies, and am probably going to buy more as gifts for some friends.

Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 2nd is going to be great. I’ll be bringing a couple friends with me. I’m hoping to get a bunch of graphic novels. I’ve realized that I really haven’t read many graphic novels aside from some of the most popular ones like Maus, Sin City, Watchmen, and so on…

I recently received a package that I was starting to think I would never receive. I pre-ordered this item in October 2025, and it was supposed to ship within that year, but I only ended up getting it just a couple of days ago. Better late than never. I’d been getting nervous because I had received no response from the artist and the 60 days to file a chargeback had long since passed. BUT it’s all good. It’s here and it’s awesome!

Now I shall complain about something.

“Content” is driving me crazy. Lately, I’ve been checking out YouTube channels beyond the ones I usually watch. Something I’ve noticed is that so many channels are trying to sell you things that are just complete and utter bullshit. I get it. YouTubers have bills to pay. I don’t mind sitting through a sponsored ad for yet another food subscription box, a shitty overpriced website building and hosting service, or controversial online therapy services.

Something I particularly hate is those “HOW TO GET DISGUSTINGLY EDUCATED!!!” type videos selling some stupid course or 50 page ebook with 30 pages of fluff and some stupid AI prompt. Like what the ffffffuck do you mean your $20 course includes an AI prompt that teaches you how to “cLArIFy yOuR vISiON?” Isn’t that what you’re supposed to teach in your dumbfuck course? God damn. I hate that people who are genuinely seeking to better themselves through self-education are being targeted by this bullshit garbage that genuinely does not need to be a $20 course.
